Spring Bird Banding on the Bass Islands

Tom and Paula Bartlett will be at the Middle Bass Island East Point Preserve banding birds starting today, Sunday, April 28  until noon on Friday May 3. They band from sunrise til about 3 every day weather permitting. If you visit, this is located at the end of a private drive. Please drive through gate at preserve to park near the banding station and avoid blocking the entrance. Do not park in private drives outside the gate.

A great opportunity to see birds up close!

They will be at the Barnhill’s property (former Vineyard Bed and Breakfast) for bird banding May 5-9 and May 12-15 from sunrise to about 3 every day. There banding is open to the public except for Weds. am May 7 and May 14. They will be open sunrise to noon on May 16. There will be a sign marked Bird Banding showing where to turn. If you reach Scheeff East Point Preserve you have gone too far. Pull back past the two homes and park before the red barn at the banding station.
