Lake Erie Wing Watch 2016-Things with Wings

The Lake Erie Wing Watch is a family birding event held every other year in either Erie or Ottawa County. This year the celebration titled “Things with Wings” will be held Saturday, September 17 at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge with talks, tram tours, hikes, vendors and more. There will be hikes at four locations on Sunday, September 18 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

As part of Wing Watch, on Saturday, September 17, Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center’s Jackie Taylor will be giving a talk at 11:00 am at the ONWR on Monarch Butterflies. Lisa Brohl from the Lake Erie Islands Conservancy will be speaking on Dragonflies at 4:00 pm at ONWR and leading a walk on Sunday, September 18 at the South Bass Island Lighthouse from 9:00 -11:00 am looking for migrating songbirds, monarchs, and dragonflies.
