Properties we are working to protect

We have three grants (Clean Ohio Conservation Fund, Coastal Estuarine and Conservation Land Protection Fund, and the Conservation Fund) to purchase and preserve approximately 14 acres of additional wet woodlands on Middle Bass Island that will be open to the public for walking, bird watching, and photography. It will become part of the Middle Bass Island Forested Wetland Preserve along with the Schneider, Dieperink, and Burgundy Bay Tracts currently owned by the Put-in-Bay Township Park District. A sign has been erected at the site on Fox Rd. and a bicycle rack purchased by Julene Market.  We hope to have a trail in place in 2018 with a dedication planned on site  during Island Green Week Sunday, August 5 at 1:00 pm.

Below are two photos taken by Neal Hess in the Forested Wetland Preserve and aerial photos taken by photographer Ivan LaBianca for the Conservation Fund of the area to be preserved with grant funds.
